Buick Envision 2026: The Model That Redefined the Brand

Let me tell you how I fell in love with the Buick Envision. The first time I got my hands on the wheel was before its major update, and even then, it was already an exceptional vehicle. I had just finished test-driving the Mercedes-Benz GLC, and I never would have imagined I'd be stepping into a comparable model. That day, I realized that Buick had changed—definitely for the better.

Today, the Envision is more appealing than ever, thanks to its digital dashboard and all the improvements it has received over the past few years. The best part is that its price range is much closer to mainstream models than luxury competitors. In short, it's a genuine bargain.

Lineup and Pricing

The Buick Envision lineup is offered in three different trims, starting with the Preferred model, which is far from a basic version even though it serves as the entry point. Its starting price of $48,325 is very competitive for a model with such a complete list of standard features and such an upscale finish. Next comes the Sport Touring version at $50,525, which adopts a sportier look by eliminating chrome accents. Finally, the Avenir trim sits at the top of the lineup, starting at $56,425. This one brings a touch of old-school luxury with chrome, high-level comfort, and more.

Category and Competition

We can confidently say that the Buick Envision now belongs to the compact luxury SUV segment—and that's bad news for its rivals. The Envision's base price is extremely aggressive, and the experience it delivers is essentially the same as what you'll find elsewhere. I'm not saying you're paying for the badge with the competition… but it's close.

Rivals: Acura RDX, Alfa Romeo Stelvio, Audi Q5, BMW X3, Cadillac XT5, Genesis GV70, Jaguar F-Pace, Land Rover Discovery, Range Rover Evoque, Range Rover Velar, Lexus NX, Lincoln Corsair, Maserati Grecale, Mercedes-Benz GLC, Porsche Macan, Volvo XC60

Design and Technology

Today's Buick models are light-years ahead of older generations in terms of design, and it's thanks to vehicles like the Envision. With its latest update, the American automaker's SUV also drew inspiration from the Envista, and the result is truly stunning. The Envision has character and an elegance we never thought we'd see in a Buick. I would have liked more color and wheel options, but aside from that, the Envision is a success across the board.

The first thing that catches your eye inside the Envision is its massive 30-inch digital dashboard, which integrates both the instrument cluster and the infotainment system. The quality of the materials and the interior finish is impeccable. Not to mention the seats, which are among the most comfortable in the segment. Buick truly did an outstanding job, and the Envision fully deserves its place among luxury models.

Performance

The Buick Envision offers only one powertrain: a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, a fairly classic setup for this type of vehicle. It delivers 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive comes standard. This combination allows the American SUV to achieve average fuel consumption ratings of 10.8 L/100 km in the city and 8.3 L/100 km on the highway, which is right in line with the segment.

Weak Points

There is only one mechanical option. The color palette is also very limited.

Strong Points

It's a stylish, comfortable, and highly practical vehicle. It doesn't fail to turn heads wherever it goes.

Signature Element

The 2026 Buick Envision offers one of the best price-to-value ratios in its class—and even in the entire industry.

Final Word

With everything we've said about the Buick Envision, I hope you won't be surprised to learn that the model has experienced a major surge in popularity over the past few years—and that trend isn't slowing down anytime soon.
